Susana graduated from Complutense University, with a Bachelors in Fine Art. She has had solo shows in Spain and the UK, and won numerous awards including first prize at the 2009 Rafael Boti Foundation Award, Madrid. Her work is in collections worldwide, including those of film director David Yates and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Barcelona. Her deft handling of the effects of light brings an atmosphere to life. Susana’s interest in the depiction of foliage can be seen in many of her works in this exhibition.
Annika grew up with both Spanish and Finnish influences. She graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the University of Seville in 2008. She has exhibited her paintings throughout Europe and in 2014 won the XVIII National Art Contest at Antequera, Málaga. In this exhibition she depicts vulnerability in the natural world by placing animals in contradictory locations – the artic fox in grasslands – and the presence of her crisp Finnish icebergs provokes thought on climate change.
