The University benefitted greatly from the services of 'fine art commissions' helping us to carefully select just the right artist. The commissions were particularly important to the university, beginning, as they did, our collection of oil paintings which form a permanent record of our history. The process of matching subject to artist was handled very professionally and this ensured that each had real empathy. The results are magnificent and hang in the university's Senate House main entrance for all to admire. The University would recommend both the commissioning service and the artists unreservedly to others looking for fine works of art to grace their collections and to treasure. The University will certainly be using the services again and again over the coming years to record our evolution and history properly for posterity.

I was delighted by the portrait of our founding Principal. It really captured his pride in his school and the much–admired portrait is a wonderful reminder of his time as Headteacher.

Anthony Williams, Chair of Governors Walworth Academy

We love the portrait…The whole process has been so enjoyable and easy and we have you all to thank for that.

Amy Dawson, Sunningdale School

You have done very well to communicate some of the less obvious features of Bryan’s ‘way’ and particularly what I see as his character…the unstraight collar is a wonderfully authentic reflection… and this is a great compliment to the subject and artist.
Simon Reid, headmaster of Gordonstoun

I was walking past a gallery in Cork Street and recognised Sara Stewart from a portrait I'd seen of her, once featured in The Mail on Sunday. We were chatting about the paintings in the gallery and I decided to commission drawings of my four daughters for my husband's birthday. Sara's guidance was invaluable as commissioning an artist can be an alarming prospect. She gave me a comprehensive list of things to consider and I remember her insistence on the importance of choosing an artist who would banter easily with teenage girls. As a consequence of choosing the right artist, my daughters adored their sittings. Fine Art Commissions kept the project a secret and my husband was over the moon with his surprise. The likenesses are incredible and I have nothing but happy memories of the whole experience.

The portrait for the University I approached with trepidation, as I thought it would be both a personal and public experience and I needed persuasion to ‘go on canvas’. I felt it would be personal, because it reaches inside you, and public because it will be seen by people who have, and have not, met you. Fine Art Commissions, together with the artist, gave me the necessary re-assurance and confidence to go ahead. The result fully justified the confidence I’d placed in them.

John Standen, University of Hull

The portrait was delivered this morning… It is everything I hoped it would be when I commissioned it and we are delighted with and enchanted by it. Thank you so much for introducing us to the artist. He is not only a wonderful artist but a terrific human being as well!

Mr Carnegie-Brown

We were interested in commissioning a portrait of the three of us to surprise our mother with on her 50th birthday. Rosie was insightful in suggesting artists whose styles might suit. She then came up with the definitive idea of commissioning a set of three that would work together or apart…Thank you Rosie…you could not have executed our idea any better and the portraits will be enjoyed by the family years.

Having a portrait commissioned is rather frightening, but Sara and Lara at Fine Art Commissions made it easy. Their friendly and professional attitude, their balanced perspective and advice, and determination to ensure that I was satisfied throughout, from selection of the right artist to the final framing of the portrait, gave me real confidence and a happy end result

I had looked for many years to find an artist to paint my daughters. I met Sara at the Olympia art fair; she listened to what I wanted, understood and found the ideal person. We worked together with the artist to make the experience of being painted as special as the portraits themselves.

Finding the right portrait artist was a problem until we came across Fine Art Commissions, who solved it in an hour.
