A Successful Palm Beach 2008!
Fine Art Commissions were the first commissioning gallery to be invited to exhibit at the International Art Fair in Palm Beach. We had an extremely enjoyable two weeks as our American friends were wildly enthusiastic about the quality of our artists.
Nick Bashall gave a live demonstration (see photos above) on the Stand and crowds of people craned their necks to see the finished article. He also gave a talk on his experiences painting military paintings in Afghanistan and Iraq. Nicky Philipps also joined us and was an invaluable asset to the team, answering questions and discussing her painting technique with literally, thousands of attendees.
Everyone was so friendly and we were made to feel extremely welcome. My favourite memory was asking one gentleman whether it was worth visiting Cape Canaveral after the show ended, I later discovered he had orbited earth in 1963 and was the legendary astronaut Scott Carpenter. |
