Marcus Hodge
Born 21/05/66
Marcus gained a degree in Economics before moving to Spain in 1989 where he undertook a rigorous five-year training in classical oil painting at the Escuela Libre Del Mediterraneo in Palma, under the tuition of the late Joaquin Torrents Llado. On completing his training he became the third person in the school's history to be invited to remain as a tutor. In 1996 Marcus returned to Britain and has since enjoyed an enviable reputation as a portrait painter.
In 2001 Fine Art Commissions presented his first solo exhibition, which consisted of landscapes of India and Spain. The second exhibition in November 2002 was a virtual sell-out and the third solo of his travels in India was held at our gallery in Walton Street in June 2004.
His most recent prestigious commission involved two large canvases to commemorate the Kings Troop 60th Anniversary Parade.

Marcus's exciting use of the brush and copious quantities of paint ensure our clients get much more than a portrait. His work has a luscious, rich quality and people admire his paintings regardless of whether they know the sitter or not.
